Valerie Bothell was introduced to crazy quilting over 20 years ago and it was love at first sight! She has always loved sewing and handwork, and she taught herself how to embroider around the age of 12. For many years, she taught crazy quilting in her home while her children were young. Once they were in school, she decided to pursue writing books on crazy quilting. Her first book, titled Quilting, Just a Little Bit Crazy, was written with co-author Allie Aller, and it explored combining traditional quilting with crazy quilting. Her most recent book is titled Joyful Daily Stitching, Seam by Seam. In this book, she has created 500 seam combinations to give the reader ideas for embellishing their own crazy quilts or other embroidery projects.
